It was a cold winter evening for the bold entrepreneurs that attended the Share the Codes event at Johannesburg Business School.
The event wrapped up with an authentic, inspiring talk by Lethabo Mpho Mokoena from Walk Fresh, that just celebrated their first decade in business.
Some key takeaways
๐
๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ – he failed his first year at the University of Johannesburg twice, held down three jobs and came flying with distinctions. He failed the systems module twice, but today it is the backbone of his business. Lethabo deeply believes in the value of education and lifelong learning.
๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ซ๐ฒ – a visionary at heart, he sees things before they appear and then dedicates himself and the team towards realising it.
๐๐๐ฎ๐ง๐๐๐ง๐๐ – he operates from a place of abundance. He is tired of the “I don’t have stories” when there are so many opportunities in the market, including townships.
๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐ – he studied and mastered branding, using what he learnt in practice.
๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ข๐ง๐ – before launching the business, he ran focus groups to establish if people are willing to pay for the service. In the early days, the pricing started around R15 and went up from there.
