When was the last time you visited an information centre on a road trip? Often they are cold and run by staff that just don’t care about the person coming through the door. Yet they are making the first impression that one has of the town and their people.
The next time you are passing Paarl, take a break and visit the Information centre in Market Street for a refreshingly different experience.
I had the pleasure of meeting two friendly, warm and super-helpful information officers, Mesha Matthyse and Whaylin Adams.
They listened attentively, provided useful information and went out of their way to resolve my queries. We had a meaningful conversation, that left me wanting to explore more of Paarl and local opportunities.
Supported by the dedicated Chrismare Carse, we need more ambassadors like them in information centres to warmly welcome visitors, tourists and business travellers on their path.
